NHS Bookings Open For Autumn Booster Vaccines

7 September 2022

boost.pngThe NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme will begin to invite eligible people to come forward for their life-saving autumn booster jabs from today.

Frontline health and care workers, people who are immunosuppressed and people who are 75 and over will able to book in for the variant-targeted vaccine from 7am this morning.

People can book by going online through the National Booking Service or by calling 119 with appointments available from Monday 12 September. Details of local sites in NW London can be found here. For people who have not yet had a full course of vaccines you can still book or come along.

The vaccination is still the best protection against Covid-19 this winter and this booster dose is important to help keep you protected through the winter.

As with previous campaigns, those most at risk from serious illness will be called forward first, with people able to book in online or through 119 as long as it has been three months since their last dose.

The autumn booster campaign is among a package of NHS measures to prepare for winter as the health service continues to face record demand on its urgent and emergency care services, including by ramping up bed capacity, increasing the number of 999 and NHS 111 staff, and working with colleagues in social care to ensure patients can be discharged in a timely manner.
