Reminder of urgent referral pathway to Chelsea & Westminster hospital CMDU (Covid-19 Medicines Delivery Unit) for highest risk patients testing positive with Covid-19

Important points

  • Please be aware that this is a reminder of the referral pathway
  • Update your team or practice to ensure eligible patients are referred promptly.

Highest risk patients who test positive are now asked to contact their GP, 111 or their specialist for consideration of referral for assessment for treatment. They are no longer automatically contacted by the NHS.

Clinicians are reminded to promptly refer on receipt of a request from an eligible patient as eligible patients should receive treatment within 5 days of a positive Covid test.
